Our team earned the BHA’s 2025 “Project of the Year” Award for a full foundation reconstruction on a 140-year-old home in Haverford, Pennsylvania — one of the most complex and rewarding projects we’ve taken on.
The homeowners hoped to preserve their historic home while increasing the basement ceiling height from six feet to nine feet. After evaluating the property, our team identified significant structural deterioration in the original stone foundation. Reusing it safely wasn’t an option.
Working closely with a trusted house-raising partner, we lifted the home approximately six feet to allow full excavation and replacement of the failing foundation. The project included:
