Angle door installed on a newly poured foundation in Newtown Square, PA

This home in Newtown Square, PA had a cellar door that was in need of not just replacing, but also needed to have masonry repairs to the foundation. As you can see, the old foundation the cellar door was sitting on was cracked and falling apart. We sent out one of our Sales Representatives to take measurements so we could manufacture a new angle cellar door. We used those measurements to fabricate a custom size cellar door in the plant in King of Prussia. Since there was concrete work to be done to the foundation, this installation was over a few days. The first day, our experienced crew went out to do the demo of the old cellar door and foundation. The next day, we went back out to pour the concrete into the forms for the new foundation, and finally a few days later, we went back out and installed the custom angle cellar door on top of the newly poured foundation. Now this home in Newtown Square has a safe and reliable basement entrance!

Galvanized Angle cellar door on a new concrete foundation in Newtown Square, PA

This homeowner in Newtown Square, PA had enough of this old cellar door leaking, so they reached out to Steelway. One of our sales representatives went out to measure for us to manufacture in our King of Prussia plant and noticed that the concrete under the cellar door was in very poor shape and should be redone. We sent out the concrete crew to remove the old cellar door and demolish the concrete foundation underneath. Once all that was done, the crew set the forms and poured the new concrete foundation. The crew verified the measurements of the new angle cellar door and covered the hole to allow the concrete to cure while the custom door was fabricated. On installation day, the crew went back out, removed the concrete forms and installed the new galvanized angle cellar door. A lot of work, but well worth it in the end. Great job guys!

Filling a basement entrance in Spring City, PA

This was a different kind of request from this Spring City, PA homeowner. Their basement is prone to getting water in the basement, and they were tired of it. They reached out to Steelway to see if we could reverse what we usually do, and full in their basement entry instead of creating one. Of course, we can! We sent out our best concrete crew for the job. They removed the old vertical door and demolished all the concrete at the landing and along the wall. Once all of that was removed, they used cinder blocks to board up the previous door opening, then they used a special water-proof coating to help prevent any future water damage. After allowing that to dry over a few days, the crew went back out to back fill in the hole. Once the grass grows in, no one will ever know there was a basement entrance there!
