Filling a basement entrance in Spring City, PA
This was a different kind of request from this Spring City, PA homeowner. Their basement is prone to getting water in the basement, and they were tired of it. They reached out to Steelway to see if we could reverse what we usually do, and full in their basement entry instead of creating one. Of course, we can! We sent out our best concrete crew for the job. They removed the old vertical door and demolished all the concrete at the landing and along the wall. Once all of that was removed, they used cinder blocks to board up the previous door opening, then they used a special water-proof coating to help prevent any future water damage. After allowing that to dry over a few days, the crew went back out to back fill in the hole. Once the grass grows in, no one will ever know there was a basement entrance there!
