Last week two of your employees, Mike and Ben, came to our home to install an exterior entranceway into our basement. I wanted to let you know how professional and courteous both of these gentlemen were during the entire time they were here. My 8 year old son was so intrigued by what they were doing; he never left our backyard until the job was done. Both Mike and Ben included my son in the conversations and also made sure he was safely away from the work area. By all means, the job these two gentlemen performed does not look easy, however, they both made the work look flawless and handled the rocky soil at my home with no trouble at all. I manage a group of Consultants across Pennsylvania and my biggest concern is the happiness of the customer and how my staff performs in front of those customers. Both Mike and Ben met all of my expectations and we definitely appreciate all of their efforts.

I just wanted to send a quick thank you for all the help, guidance, and patience with me on this project. Everything seemed to go very smooth this morning, and I am very excited about the results. I have already shared some pictures with family and friends who didn’t think it was possible to complete in 4 hours what your company claimed to do. Well they were right – it wasn’t done in 4 hours, more like 3 hours!!!! I am very thankful for the professionalism over the last few months as my wife and I considered this option. Job well done!!!

I received my door via Overnight Express freight on June 30th. I am very impressed with the workmanship. I began the install on the following Saturday. I removed the old door, performed some concrete filling and patching, let it set overnight. The following morning, I measured and drilled, cut, chiseled relief for the hinges and dropped the door into place. I had to lift the door once to refine the reliefs, and then dropped it into place permanently. The finished product looks great and is a quantum improvement over the wood entry I would have had to replace it with (for the third time in 18 years.) I took a before, during, and after picture with my camera. If the pics turn out alright, I’ll send them to you. If you can use them to describe the install to other potential buyers, please do so. Personally, I think the cost was worth the product and the final end state. Thank you for offering a quality product. I have had an inquiry about the door already and I provided them contact information for you guys.

Thank you for your follow up and resolution to my order. I received the door on Monday. I am pleased with it's fit and finish. While, barring catastrophe, I don’t expect to have to replace this bulkhead in the rest of my lifetime, I will express my positive experience with your company to anyone looking for a quality product at a reasonable price.

My review is in two parts to explain what I believe are the true signs of a great company. We contracted Steelway from a recommendation and requested an estimate. Norman came out promptly and inspected my basement, explained the process, timeline and cost. We agreed to have the work done. We were kept up to date on the permit process and when we were scheduled to have the egress installed. On the day of the install the crew was prompt and again explained how the work was to be performed. There was several inches of snow on the ground so they removed the snow and laid down protective mats for the equipment. The work was performed in about 6 hours and looked great. Very little dirt or water in the basement. They cleaned up the area and left it in good shape. The next day we got 10 inches of snow. I noticed the backfill had sunk significantly and the paint on the door was peeling. Also there was slight seepage of water on the bottom step which I agreed were all severe weather related since it was extremely cold and wet when the installation was performed. Now I was pretty upset about these issues, however after talking to Norman he assured me they would make it right which they did. The second part of my review pertains to what I believe makes a company great and that is the response to issues that always come up in home remodeling. Steelway went above and beyond in addressing my concerns and issues. They came out several time to backfill the area, replaced the doors and repaired the leak. I can't say enough about the way Norman and his team responded and made sure I was pleased with the results. I would absolutely use this company again and I do recommend them to all Angie list members. Great job Steelway!

Norm: I just wanted to drop you a line, and say ..... THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! You, and your guys did a GREAT job! You were always there when you said you would be, on time, and ready to work. You and your guys worked straight through, not even stopping for lunch. And, the worker that came out to my house today (02-09-12) to install the inside door, and finish things up, was also there on time. Early even. He was ready to work, went right to work, did an excellent job, and even paid attention to detail. He was pleasant, and did an outstanding job! Your girls in the office also did a nice job. They were always polite and helpful when I spoke to them on the phone, and did a great job, behind the scenes, to help get this job completed perfectly, and on time. You have a first class company, with first class workers, that do first class work! Thank you again for the job you did, and how you did it! Steelway did an excellent job outlining the scope of the project, handling the permit, and installing the egress. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly. John and Andrew did an excellent job installing the egress. They arrived on-time and the workmanship is outstanding. Highly recommend.
